Michael Ritchie joins from System 73 and Emil Umetbaev from MediaKind
ST. LOUIS ⎯ April 21, 2021 – Amdocs Media, a division of Amdocs, a leading provider of software and services to communications and media companies, announces two new appointments that further strengthen its successful sales team in Europe. Michael Ritchie joins Amdocs Media from System 73 as Head of Sales for Western Europe and Africa, and Emil Umetbaev joins the business from MediaKind in the role of Sales Director responsible for business development in Eastern Europe and the Nordics.
Ritchie will be based in London and responsible for managing customers in the telecoms, broadcast, media and gaming sectors. He will focus on developing sales strategies for media supply chain in order to deliver growth across the EMEA region. He has over 20 years’ experience working across the broadcast, media and telecoms industries covering OTT, online video platforms, content aggregation, content delivery and edge compute solutions. Prior to joining Amdocs Media, Ritchie was CCO at System 73 and previously held a series of senior commercial roles at Eurovision (EBU), Piksel, Red Touch Media and Fastly. He has a strong track record in developing new business and has worked with many brands including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Virgin, O2, Vodafone, Amazon, Disney, HBO and Microsoft.
Umetbaev will be responsible for expanding Amdocs Media’s footprint in Russian-speaking markets and the Nordics. Based in Moscow, he will work closely with existing Amdocs regional sales teams to develop the company’s Go-To-Market strategy for this region. He has over 18 years’ experience working across telecoms, IT and media covering OSS/BSS, cloud & IP, IPTV, OTT, content management & delivery. Prior to joining Amdocs Media, Umetbaev was Program Director at MediaKind and previously had notable successes in delivering growth at Ericsson.
